Waitlist privacy

This notice covers the Laurels website and launch waitlist. The mobile app has a separate privacy policy.

Daily puzzles

Your featured daily puzzle, moves, and result are saved in your browser’s local storage so you can continue today’s game. The website sends your device’s timezone to our Supabase puzzle endpoint to select the current daily puzzle and its midnight deadline. Website play does not create an account or send moves or results to app leaderboards. Clearing this website’s browser data removes these saves. Puzzle files and word lists are downloaded from this website. Hosting providers may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver the puzzle.

What you share

When you join, we store your email address, preferred platform, signup time, and agreement to receive Laurels launch emails.

To limit spam, the signup endpoint processes your IP address and keeps a keyed hash in a rate-limit record. We do not store your raw IP address in the waitlist database. Rate-limit records expire after ten minutes and are removed during a subsequent signup request; hosting providers may separately retain technical logs.

We use this information to manage the waitlist and send Laurels launch updates by email. Joining does not create an app account.

Who processes it

DigitalOcean hosts this website. Its infrastructure providers may process technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect it. We have not added advertising trackers or third-party analytics.

Supabase hosts the signup endpoint and stores the waitlist in the United States. The list is accessible only to authorised service operators. See Supabase’s privacy policy.

Emails sent to [email protected] are handled by our email provider, Google. The developer uses the information to manage signup requests. The signup list is not published on this site.

The waitlist currently accepts email addresses only. If you previously joined with a phone number, you can still request its removal.

Your choice

To leave the waitlist or request deletion, email [email protected] and identify the contact details you joined with. We may verify that you control it. Use the subject “Remove me from the Laurels waitlist.”

We keep your signup while launch announcements are in use, or until you request removal. We will review the list after launch and remove entries that are no longer needed.
